Living Worlds: increasing scientific literacy

The NSW Science and Technology curriculum challenges students to think like scientists by exploring the complexity and beauty of the Living World. A key focus is describing how living things can be grouped based on observable features and to distinguish between different life cycles.

Australian Environmental Education (AEE) offers a suite of hands-on programs specifically designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world observation. By integrating these programs you can provide your students with authentic opportunities to use scientific tools to investigate the interdependence of organisms within their local ecosystems.

I have outlined the AEE programs with a key focus on life cycles and classification in the table below.

AEE ProgramKey AlignmentBest For
Invertebrate InvestigationsClassification, Features & Life CyclesHands-on STEM and using scientific tools.
Life CyclesGrowth & DevelopmentUnderstanding stages of life and reproduction.
Australian Animals AdaptationsClassification, Adaptation, Environment & Life CyclesUnderstanding adaptations and habitat needs.
Fabulous FrogsLife Cycles & HabitatsSpecific focus on amphibians and environmental health.
Marvellous Marine LifeClassification, Habitats &, Life CyclesUnderstanding adaptations & environmental health.

The base cost is $425 + GST for a 60 minute program. We can work out a program design and cost based on the number of classes/students you would like to accommodate.
